I left a message on youtube a year or more back, and just wanted to reiterate that I think your playing on music like The Thrill Is Gone is superb. There's a definite nod towards Billy Gibbons, Robben Ford and a lovely combination (with equisite phrasing ! ) of blues, dorian and harmonic minor scales and well placed arpeggios. While many players do similar, I've yet to hear ANYONE combine all the above well known and loved ingedients with so much natural flair. If you DON'T become a household name, then it will be no fault of yours. But whatever the professional outcome or financial rewards may turn out to be by age 50 or so,you have already mastered all that. The versions on youtube remain the best and most sophisitcated and well balanced versions I have EVER heard anyone play....(yes, including BB King I mean ! ).... end of matter ! Congratulations...its inspiring and even if you stopped playing tomorrow, would be a truly great legacy ! All the best for the future and may we meet up one day down the track at a blues festival. Our lot don't venture down south, but we do a bit so hopefully we can shake hands one day .
